Workshop: Get your Blackboard course sites ready for a new semester

Purpose/ Content

The main purpose with this workshop is to get your course sites ready for the new semester and we will help you do just that.

During this workshop, you will get insight into how you as a teacher, can organise and make your content, and course sites in Blackboard more user-friendly. As well as how to re-use materials from previous semesters and adjust the existing course design.

Activities

The participants will get hands-on experience with the tools presented, and during the workshop they can work with the tools in their own teaching.

Focus will be on the following:

  • general design and layout principles for course sites in Blackboard
  • how to edit the layout on my course site
  • best practice examples
  • how to use the best practice examples on my own course site
  • how to edit the menu structure on my course site
  • course structure and learning modules
  • how to handle student assignments - creating a folder in which the students can upload materials
  • how to copy content and course structure from an existing course
  • how to easily distribute large quantities of materials to the students

Participants must bring a PC or Mac and have access to mit.au.dk and Blackboard.
