The positions:

The Centre for Teaching and Learning invites applications for one or more associate professorships in university teaching to begin on 1 June 2016. The positions The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is a centre for research-based educational development within Higher Education at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University.

The centre undertakes the following tasks: 

  • Offers teaching development programmes geared towards teaching staff at all career stages at Aarhus BSS.
  • Takes part in development activities together with teaching staff, teacher teams, directors of studies etc.
  • Conducts research into higher education teaching issues, as a rule with its starting point in the business and social sciences.
  • Is responsible for a range of statistical analytical tasks for Aarhus BSS and Aarhus University.
  • Is responsible for the faculty's digital teaching systems (LMS, digital exams, digital evaluation).

Applicants must be able to perform tasks within the centre's research, analysis, development and teaching tasks with particular focus on: (1) quantitative research in learning approaches and study behaviour among university students, study environment, activating teaching methods, course evaluation practice; (2) teaching and instruction on our development programmes for student teachers, PhD students, assistant professors, associate professors and full professors; (3) facilitation of projects in the field of teaching and competency development for individual members of the teaching staff or for teaching teams at the faculty, (4) coordination and management of analysis and development projects, as well as; (5) development of a strong quantitative research environment at the centre.

Emphasis will be placed on the following when assessing applicants:

  • The scope, quality and relevance of research publications.
  • Documented competences within the field of quantitative research methods.
  • Documented experience of management and coordination of research and analysis projects.
  • Documented experience of the teaching and instruction of university teaching staff and the development of educational programmes for the same target group.
